This work contemplates the layered memory of Hsinchu’s Former Imperial Japanese Navy’s Sixth Fuel Factory, erected in the 1940s to manufacture aviation fuel. Its monumental camouflaged chimney and austere concrete skeleton—later repurposed into post-war domestic settlements—are captured through dense, etching-like cross-hatching. By superimposing historical wartime aviation over contemporary streetscapes, the composition creates an evocative temporal montage. Delicate touches of selective colour amidst the monochrome line work tenderly illuminate human vitality quietly persisting against the scars of industrial ruins.
